They already boast three Belgian internationals in their ranks but Chelsea are keen on recruiting a fourth in the form of Atletico Madrid winger Yannick Carrasco, report The Mirror.

The 23-year-old currently has a £35 million release clause in his contract at Vicente Calderon and given the Blues’ interest, Diego Simeone’s side are keen on extending his contract and buy-out fee to fend off all suitors.

Despite only scoring four goals in 36 La Liga appearances for Atleti since signing from Monaco last year, Carrasco has been an impressive member of Simeone’s squad, earning nine senior international caps with Belgium in the process.

With Antonio Conte using his first season at Stamford Bridge to stabilise the West London outfit, the report claims Carrasco isn’t a target for the January transfer window but rather next summer.

Fully assessing who he wants to retain and dispose of during the current campaign, Chelsea supporters will be hoping that Carrasco stalls on a new deal in Spain with his current release clause of £35 million already expensive.
