Despite capturing the attentions of Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Manchester City recently, Andreas Christensen won’t be exiting Chelsea next summer, report the Daily Mail.

The Danish international is currently impressing in the second part of a two-year loan stint at Borussia Monchengladbach but the Blues are planning on welcoming him back into their first team for next season.

Having made only a single Premier League appearance for the Blues’ first team so far, the 20-year-old is still viewed as a potential heir to John Terry’s throne alongside the likes of Kurt Zouma.

Originally joining the youth ranks at Stamford Bridge from Brondby back in 2012, Christensen is just one of an unprecedented 38 players currently out on loan from the Blues.

Arguably one of the most impressive, having achieved game time in the Champions League as well as forging his way into the international reckoning with Denmark, it appears Chelsea won’t be hastily letting go of this particular talent.

Having let the likes of Kevin De Bruyne and Romelu Lukaku slip through their fingers in recent years, Chelsea supporters can rest safe in the knowledge that Christensen’s long-term future still remains in West London.
