Manchester United have struggled to coax the very best form out of Paul Pogba early in his Red Devils’ career but Paul Scholes has claimed two players could provide the perfect foil, report The Telegraph.
Speaking to BT Sport following Jose Mourinho’s sides’ Europa League defeat to Feyenoord on Thursday, Scholes believes either of Real Madrid duo Toni Kroos or Luka Modric would be a perfect fit for Manchester United.
“I think Mourinho should go into the market for a controlling midfielder, who can control where Paul goes and control the game,” said Scholes.
Pogba has played alongside both Marouane Fellaini in the Premier League and Ander Herrera in the Europa League last night but the Red Devils’ world record breaking signing has failed to live up to the hype so far.
Still incredibly early days of course, Pogba has all the time in the world to fine tune his own performances but Scholes’ idea of a raid on Real Madrid could prove incredibly difficult in practice.
Both Modric and Kroos started Real Madrid’s 2-1 victory over Sporting Lisbon in the Champions League in midweek and with no speculation over their immediate futures right now, it’d surely take another mega fee to lure either of the pair to Old Trafford.
