Arsenal to bring Koscielny back in
You’ve got to hand it to Arsene Wenger for the way he trusted in young defenders Rob Holding and Calum Chambers last weekend.
Other managers in the Premier League would no doubt have played an experienced star out of position rather than risk a youngster; but Wenger was keen to give both Holding and Chambers a chance.
Whilst both players deserve credit for stepping up to the occasion; both were very clearly out of their depth. They struggled to handle Liverpool’s blisteringly quick attack, with Arsenal eventually succumbing to four goals against the Merseyside outfit.
The defence clearly lacked an experienced centre half, and with Laurent Koscielny nearing fitness once again – expect Wenger to throw the French defender back into the starting XI.
He may not be fully fit yet, but Arsenal cannot risk playing both Holding and Chambers together again against players of Jamie Vardy’s calibre.
