West Ham snub transfer deals for Barcelona & Chelsea midfielders

Alex Song

According to reports from Sky Sports, West Ham will not look to sign Emmanuel Emineke, Alexandre Song and Victor Moses permanently during the summer transfer window.

All three are currently on loan at Upton Park and the Hammers have options to acquire their services permanently, but have already decided not to activate them.

Victor Moses joined the Irons from Chelsea during the summer transfer window and initially impressed, scoring in a 2-1 win over Manchester City during his second start for the East London club.

But he’s not started a Premier League fixture since suffering a hamstring injury in December, keeping the winger sidelined for six weeks, and now finds himself stuck behind Michail Antonio in the pecking order.

Likewise, Alex Song agreed a second season-long loan from Barcelona last summer but has failed to rekindle the level of form he produced under Slaven Bilic’s predecessor, Sam Allardyce.

He’s managed just twelve Premier League appearances this term, only eight of which have been starts, amid a campaign thwarted with injury problems.

Meanwhile, striker Emmanuel Emenike is yet to find his first Premier League goal since signing for West Ham on loan from Fenerbahce during the January transfer window, averaging less than one shot per league appearance.

All three now look set to return to their parent clubs during the summer transfer window.
