According to reports from The Telegraph, West Ham could swoop for Liverpool’s Christian Benteke and Manchester City’s Wilfried Bony during the summer transfer window.
The Hammers’ main strike target remains Marseille ace Michy Batushayi, who has bagged 13 goals and seven assists in 27 Ligue 1 appearances this season. But should the Hammers miss out on the Belgium international, they’ll reportedly turn their attentions to the out-of-favour Premier League duo.

Benteke and Bony find themselves in similar situations at Liverpool and Manchester City respectively. Both boast impressive scoring records in the Premier League, netting 49 times in three seasons with Aston Villa and 34 goals in 70 appearances for Swansea City, but have struggled to hit the heights expected since joining two of the division’s top clubs in big-money deals.
Bony simply hasn’t brought his Swans form to the Etihad, whilst Benteke has found himself an unfortunate victim of regime change at Anfield, managing just two more league starts during six months under Jurgen Klopp than the five he was issued by Brendan Rodgers at the start of the season.
The Telegraph speculate the physical frontmen will be sold in the coming transfer window and claim Hammers manager Slaven Bilic will be handed a £20million budget to sign a striker – which TIF believes should be just enough to sign either.
