According to reports from The Independent, Chelsea sent scouts to run the rule over Manchester City and Manchester United transfer target Paul Pogba this week.
The France international is one of the leading midfielders in world football, compared to the likes of Patrick Vieira and Yaya Toure and famed for his eclectic mix of technical ability, ranging physicality and netting prowess.

Allegedly incoming Chelsea boss Antonio Conte managed the 22-year-old during three years at Juventus, winning three Serie A titles together before he took over as Italy gaffer in summer 2014, and is reportedly keen to bring him to Stamford Bridge during the summer transfer window.
The latest reports from The Independent – citing Italian publication Corriere Dello Sport – further substantiate those rumours, claiming Blues scouts attended the Old Lady’s Coppa Italia semi-final clash with Inter Milan on Wednesday night.
But Chelsea are by no means alone in the race to sign the £70million-rated midfielder. Pep Guardiola is reportedly keen to add Pogba to his Manchester City ranks during the summer transfer window, whilst The Independent moot former employers Manchester United as fellow candidates for his signature.
