According to reports from Here Is The City, Chelsea are hoping a swap deal involving midfielder Nemanja Matic will see them win the race for Juventus star and Manchester City target Paul Pogba. 

The former Manchester United youngster has emerged as one of the top midfielders in world football since swapping Old Trafford for the Old Lady in summer 2012, famed for his technical trickery, imposing physicality and netting prowess, and will be one of world football’s most sought-after stars during the summer transfer window.

Indeed, incoming manager Pep Guardiola has reportedly made it clear to Manchester City that he wants the France international at his disposal next season, whilst Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich and European champions Barcelona are also known long-term admirers of the £70million-rated ace.

But according to HITC, Chelsea are hoping a swap deal involving towering midfielder Nemanja Matic, coupled with the presence of former Juventus boss Antonio Conte at Stamford Bridge next season, could swing the race for the 22-year-old’s signature in their favour.

The Serbian international was a key part of Chelsea’s successful title bid last season but has desperately struggled for form this term and rumour has it he’ll push for a Stamford Bridge exit during the summer transfer windowJuventus are said to be intrigued by the idea of a potential swap deal, but they’ve informed all interested parties that Pogba will have the ultimate say on his next club.
