Real Madrid put Chelsea & Man United midfield target on transfer list

James Rodriguez

According to reports from The Daily Star, Real Madrid will look to offload Chelsea and Manchester United target James Rodriguez during the summer transfer window.

The Colombian international moved to the Bernabeu for a whopping £63million after bagging six goals at the 2014 World Cup – including a strike against Uruguay that later went on to claim the prestigious Puskas award.

But he’s struggled to hit the heights expected in the Spanish capital and particularly since Carlo Ancelotti’s sacking last summer, going on to net just five times across all competitions this term.

According to The Daily Star, who cite reports from website Madrid-Barcelona, manager Zinedine Zidane has now grown so frustrated with the 24-year-old’s performances that he’ll look to offload him during the summer transfer window – already eyeing Chelsea star Eden Hazard as a potential replacement.

Manchester United were linked with Rodriguez during the January transfer window and his availability in the summer would undoubtedly be of interest to the Old Trafford outfit. But the British tabloid also moot Chelsea as potential suitors, even speculating a swap deal involving the 2015 PFA Player of the Year.
