Chelsea have been continuously linked with a move for the Brazilian since October, but failed to make an official offer last month, whilst Liverpool saw a £24million bid rejected as the Ukranian outfit upped their valuation from £38million to £53million.
Both clubs are likely to revive their interest at the end of the season when Shakhtar are widely expected to sell for a considerably more reasonable fee.
