According to reports from The Express, Chinese clubs Jiangsu Suning and Guangzhou Evergrande are preparing £38million bids for Chelsea and Liverpool target Alex Teixeira.

The attacking midfielder has bagged 26 goals in as many appearances for Shakhtar Donetsk this season and was subject to heavy interest from the Premier League duo throughout the January transfer window.

Chelsea have been continuously linked with a move for the Brazilian since October, but failed to make an official offer last month, whilst Liverpool saw a £24million bid rejected as the Ukranian outfit upped their valuation from £38million to £53million.

Both clubs are likely to revive their interest at the end of the season when Shakhtar are widely expected to sell for a considerably more reasonable fee.

But according to The Express, who cite reports from Italy, Chelsea and Liverpool now face competition for Teixeira’s signature from Jiangsu Suning and Guangzhou Evergrande – who are both reportedly preparing £38million bids.

The Chinese Super League is amid an incredible recruitment drive, which has seen them sign Chelsea’s Ramires, former Arsenal star Gervinho, Inter Milan midfielder Fredy Guarin and Atletico Madrid striker Jackson Martinez over the last few weeks.
