Diego Costa

According to The Daily Mail, Atletico Madrid have confirmed their interest in re-signing Chelsea striker Diego Costa; whilst The Express report that youngster Marcus McGuane has signed professional terms with Arsenal.

The Mattress Makers sold Jackson Martinez to Guangzhou Evergrande earlier this week in a €42million deal, leading to reports that they would use the Colombian striker’s fee to fund a summer swoop for Chelsea striker Diego Costa.

The Spain international left Vincente Calderon for Stamford Bridge in summer 2014 after firing Diego Simeone’s side to a La Liga title and Champions League final but according to The Mail at least, he’s never quite settled in west London.

Meanwhile, The Express report that 17-year-old Marcus McGuane has signed a professional contract at Arsenal, after posting on Twitter earlier today; “Very happy to have signed my first professional contract at Arsenal, hopefully many more to come.”

The defensive midfielder has been involved in the Gunners’ youth set-up since the age of five and has trained with the first team squad this season.
