Oscar

According to reports from The Sun, Chelsea rejected a £57million bid for Oscar last month; whilst Mirror Football report that Daniel Sturridge wants to leave Liverpool at the end of the season.

The Brazil international, who has bagged 38 goals in 178 appearances for Chelsea since his £19million arrival from Internacional in summer 2012 – including a recent hat-trick against MK Dons in the FA Cup’s Fourth Round – was reportedly the subject of a £57million bid from Jiangsu Suning last month.

The Super League outfit have already set a new Chinese transfer record twice in the last ten days, agreeing a £25million deal for Blues midfielder Ramires last month and following up yesterday with a £38million swoop for Shakhtar Donetsk star Alex Teixeira. The west London outfit rejected the £57million proposal, but The Sun expect Jiangsu Suning to revive their interest in the 24-year-old at the end of the season.

Meanwhile, Mirror Football report that crocked striker Daniel Sturridge is ready to quit Anfield amid a nightmare 18 months of continuous injury problems.

The England international has claimed 44 goals in 72 appearances for the Reds, including 37 strikes in the Premier League, and is regarded by Roy Hodgson as the Three Lions’ most naturally gifted centre-forward. But he’s managed just 17 Premier League appearances since the start of last season and clocked up just 196 minutes under Jurgen Klopp, who has often vented his frustration at Sturridge’s lack of fitness.

According to Mirror Football, the 26-year-old believes he may need a fresh start to revive his career and will resultantly push for an Anfield exit during the summer. The British tabloid speculates former club Chelsea could be interested in re-signing the injury-prone striker, whilst Arsenal, Tottenham and West Ham are all on the lookout for a high-quality centre-forward.
