According to reports from Mirror Football, Arsenal are preparing an £8million summer swoop for Manchester United target and West Ham prodigy Reece Oxford.
The 17-year-old hugely impressed against the Gunners on the opening day of the season, shackling one of the Premier League’s most potent creators in Mesut Ozil – who has since gone on to bag four goals and 16 assists in 23 appearances – upon his first-team debut.
A number of England’s top clubs have been monitoring the teenager for some time. Scouts from Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United tracked his progress with the Hammers’ U21 squad last season whilst Mirror Football document interest from Manchester City as well.
But recent speculation has suggested Arsenal and United are the likeliest clubs to swoop for the defender-come-midfielder in the summer and Mirror Football claim the north Londoners are now preparing an £8million bid – a figure which keeps popping up in regards to the Irons prospect.
But under contract until 2019, the Hammers are under no direct obligation to sell and will be loathed to part with their most exciting academy product since Mark Noble.
