Saido Berahino

According to reports from The Sun, Liverpool, Newcastle United and Stoke City target Saido Berahino has his sights set on joining Tottenham Hotspur this month.

The West Bromwich Albion star was subject to a series of bids from Spurs during the summer after netting 14 times in 38 Premier League appearances last season – but the two clubs fell out over the structure of the potential £23million deal.

Having since fallen afoul of manager Tony Pulis to the extent that he’s made just eight league starts out of a possible 20 this season, the Hawthorns outfit appear more than happy to cash-in on the want-away 22-year-old before the close of the January transfer window.

A number of potential suitors been mooted in the tabloids over the last few weeks, with Newcastle United, Stoke City and Liverpool believed to be amongst the front-runners.

But according to The Sun, Berahino is determined to force through a move to White Hart Lane, with the British tabloid claiming the Burundi-born striker is ‘ready to snub any other offers to make sure he becomes a Spurs player.’

The Lilywhites are on the hunt for an understudy to first-choice striker Harry Kane and are widely expected to launch another bid for Berahino – albeit worth significantly less than the proposal rejected by the Baggies last summer.
