Lionel Messi

According to The Daily Mail, Tottenham Hotspur are in talks with the representatives of Barcelona starlet Sandro Ramirez; whilst Goal report that Manchester City goalkeeper Willy Caballero believes the club has what it takes to sign Lionel Messi.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino has scouted the 20-year-old first hand on several occasions already this season and the north London club are now in talks with his representatives.

The Lilywhites are keen to sign a forward in January who can also provide cover for the wide positions and Ramirez, who has scored seven times in 30 appearances for Barcelona’s senior string, fits the bill perfectly.

The Spain U21’s contract includes an £8.8million buyout fee, but Spurs are reluctant to agree to Barca’s demands of a buy-bay clause included in any deal.

Meanwhile, Manchester City goalkeeper Willy Caballero believes the Etihad outfit have the finance and the pulling power to sign four-time Ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi – but only if he decides to leave Barcelona.

As quoted by Goal, the Argentina international said of his countryman; “That subject is talked about a lot and it’s inevitable not to think or speak about it and then when you think that Kun [Sergio Aguero] is at the club and he’s such a good friend of Messi.”

“But until he’s signed or not it’s nothing more than a rumour. But yes, I understand that it’s possible, because this club has massive economic power. The expensive players that the club has at the moment shows that it can deal with high prices.

“Because of that it seems that they can try to sign Messi if he decides to leave Barcelona. No doubt that City can get Messi, but everything depends on what Leo wants to do.”
