According to reports from The Daily Mail, Manchester City could launch a bid for Partizan Belgrade prodigy Andrija Zivkovic during the January transfer window.

The 5 foot 7 winger is just 19 years of age but has already registered 93 competitive appearances for the Serbian outfit, including a run of eleven goals in 16 outings this season.

Having also played a pivotal role in Serbia’s U20 World Cup triumph earlier this year, the teenager, who some have dubbed ‘the Serbian Messi‘, has been attracting interest from Europe’s top clubs for some time. Last month, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Atletico Madrid, Valencia and Villarreal were all linked, whilst The Daily Mail moot Chelsea as long-term admirers as well.

But it appears Manchester City have been the most proactive club in the race to sign Zivkovic ahead of the January transfer window. Their scouts watched him in action against Vojvodina and Augsburg earlier this month, in the Serbian Super League and Europa League respectively.

The Citizens view the three-cap international as potential cover for Samir Nasri, who has made just one Premier League start this season and is seriously struggling for form, and could resultantly launch a bid next month.
