According to reports from Mirror Football, Chelsea are leading Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur in the race to sign in-demand Charlton Athletic youngster Ademola Lookman.

The 18-year-old received his first-team debut in November but has already scored three goals in five league starts for the Championship outfit, including a brace against Bolton last week.

The forward’s miraculous rise since joining the club’s youth system from Lambeth-based outfit Waterloo FC just last year has not gone unnoticed by the Premier League’s top clubs, with Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur all recently linked to his signature.

Whilst some clubs will likely put their interest on hold until the summer, however, Mirror Football claim Chelsea are leading the charge to sign Lookman when the transfer window opens next month – with the Citizens and the Lilywhites in close pursuit.

But the relegation-threatened Addicks are determined to hold onto the prodigious teenager by signing him to a long-term contract. Lookman’s current terms expire in summer 2017.
