Euro giants want Liverpool star in summer transfer; Swansea lodge Chelsea loan bid

|

No.10 - Philippe Coutinho

According to The Express, Barcelona want to sign Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho next summer; whilst Mirror Football report that Swansea City have launched a loan bid for Chelsea striker Loic Remy.

Brazil international Coutinho has been linked with a Nou Camp switch since the start of the season, in no small part due to his impressive form for the Reds.

Although the attacking midfielder has been criticised for inconsistency, he’s bagged five goals and three assists in 13 Premier League appearances this season – establishing himself as one of Liverpool’s most important players.

The Express claim Barca boss Luis Enrique is a huge fan of the 23-year-old, viewing him as the ideal No.10 to play behind Luis Suarez, Neymar and Lionel Messi, and wants to bring him to Catalonia next summer.

Meanwhile, Mirror Football report that Swansea City have launched a loan bid for Chelsea striker Loic Remy, with the offer of a £1million fee.

The France striker has made just one start in the Premier League this season, so the Welsh club are hoping he will be open to a move after knocking back their advances during the summer.

But their chances of signing the 28-year-old could well depend on Radamel Falcao’s situation. If the flopped loan signing returns to parent club Monaco as expected, the Blues will be reluctant to part with their only back-up to Diego Costa.
