According to reports from Radyospor via Turkish-Football.com, Manchester United will have to pay €20million to sign strike target Mario Gomez.

The Red Devils have scored the fewest goals, 17, of any side in the Premier League’s top seven this season and were resultantly linked with the veteran frontman earlier this month.

The German international worked under United boss Louis van Gaal at Bayern Munich and netted 113 times in 174 appearances for the Bavarians, helping fire them to consecutive Bundesliga titles and a Champions League title, before moving to Fiorentina in summer 2013.

After two underwhelming campaigns in Serie A, the 30-year-old is now on loan at Besiktas – who appear to have the deciding vote over his future due to an option to buy clause. Gomez has scored nine times in 15 appearances for the Super Lig outfit thus far.

As quoted by Turkish Football, club president Fikret Orman has insisted any club who want to take the 6 foot 2 striker off their hands will have to pay around €20million.

He told Radyospor; “At the end of the season if any club wants Gomez they will have to offer €20million or more I mean we are talking about a German international striker who has proven himself countless times at the highest level.”

He also confirmed that the club is yet to receive any offers for the one-time German Footballer of the Year.
