According to reports from Fichajes, Chelsea and Manchester United find themselves in an eight-club race to sign Valencia winger Sofiane Feghouli.
The Algeria international, who scored his country’s first World Cup goal in 28 years at Brazil 2014, has emerged as one of the most sought-after attackers on the market in recent months due to his Mestalla contract expiring at the end of the season.
Valencia are keen to agree on extended terms with the 25-year-old, but his reluctance to do so has attracted interest from all over Europe and particularly the Premier League’s top sides.
Indeed, scouts from Chelsea and Manchester United watched the Algeria winger in action during a 3-0 win over Malaga last month, whilst Tottenham Hotspur are expected to meet Feghouli’s agent in the coming weeks and discuss an outline of his potential contract at White Hart Lane.
But Fichajes put fellow Premier League side Liverpool in the mix as well, whilst also documenting interest from Ligue 1 champions PSG, Serie A outfits Inter Milan and Roma, and Turkish giants Fenerbahce.
Although free transfers are meant to come cheap, the widespread interest in Feghouli could well drive up his wage demands.
