According to reports from The Express this morning, Manchester United scouts ran the rule over FC Porto defender Bruno Martins Indi once again last weekend.
The Netherlands international was part of Louis van Gaal’s Netherlands squad at the 2014 World Cup and featured prominently as Oranje won the third-place playoff in Brazil.
Many tipped him to become one of the Dutchman’s first signings as Red Devils boss, having also impressed during his four Eredivisie campaigns with Feyenoord, but the 6 foot 1 defender instead moved to Estadio du Dragao in a €7.7million deal.
Recently, however, the 23 year-old has found himself back on United’s radar as well as Tottenham Hotspur’s and Manchester City’s; all three clubs reportedly had scouts present as Martins Indi featured in Porto’s shock 2-1 win over Chelsea at the end of September.
But according to The Express, who cite Portuguese publication O Jogo, United executed yet another scouting mission on Sunday, running the rule over the 31-cap international during a scoreless draw against Braga in the Primeira Liga.
They also claim Martins Indi is expected to cost around £12million and his ability to play at left-back if required is of particular interest to the Red Devils, amid Luke Shaw’s long-term injury.
