According to reports from The Daily Mail last Sunday, Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has hinted he could one day take the management hot seat at Arsenal.

The Portuguese has spent four full terms at Stamford Bridge during two separate spells, winning three Premier League titles in the process, and has lost only once to the north London outfit in that time period – in the 2015 Community Shield final earlier this summer.

It’s left The Special One on rather mixed terms with the Gunners fan base; some regarding him as their arch nemesis, others, such as notorious Wenger-skeptic Piers Morgan, viewing the Portuguese as the answer to their decade-long title drought.

And according to Morgan, of Britain’s Got Talent and Life Stories fame, Mourinho has ‘conspiratorially’ implied that he could take the reins at the Emirates once his second Chelsea tenure comes to an end.

As quoted by The Mail, he reportedly quipped to the 50 year-old journalist; “Let me put it like this: one day I will leave Chelsea and when I do I will continue living in London. There are a number of other opportunities for a manager in London – Fulham, QPR, West Ham, Spurs, the England national team… and Arsenal.”

After ruling out non-Champions League clubs, Mourinho further suggested Arsenal could be his next destination. “So, Piers, we are left with two options, yes?Arsenal and the England national team. Patience. For now I have given you what you wanted – a glimmer of hope.”

Arsenal and Chelsea face each other in the Premier League’s 12.45pm kick-off this Saturday.
