Mateo Kovacic

According to reports from The Guardian yesterday evening, Real Madrid have agreed a £25million fee with Inter Milan for Arsenal and Liverpool target Mateo Kovacic.

The 21 year-old midfielder, who arrived at the San Siro from Dynamo Zagreb in January 2013, bagged five goals and three assists in 35 Serie A appearances last season to affirm his reputation as one of the hottest prospects in the division.

Barcelona, Arsenal and Liverpool have all recently been linked to the Croatian international, whilst reports in June claimed Champions League finalists Juventus were attempting to thrash out a £21million deal. However, it appears Real Madrid are about to win the ever-expanding race for Kovacic’s signature.

According to The Guardian, they’ve agreed a €32million fee with Inter, plus an extra €2million in add-ons, and the midfielder is now expected to sign a Bernabeu contract at some point today – although his medical could be later in the week.
