According to reports from The Telegraph yesterday evening, Chelsea will wait to see if John Stones makes a request to leave Everton before launching their next bid for the England international.

The Premier League champions have already seen three bids turned down for the 21 year-old defender, who has also been linked with Manchester United and Manchester City this summer, the latest being worth £30million.

They’ve been tipped to make a fourth and final offer for the 6 foot 2 centre-half of £40million before the end of the transfer window. But according to The Telegraph, that could depend on whether he actively pursues an exit from Goodison Park.

The British newspaper claim Chelsea believe they’ve already shown more than enough commitment to signing the former Barnsley youngster with their three previous bids and now want to gauge his reaction before their next offer. Particularly, whether or not he makes a formal request to leave Merseyside.

And according to reports this morning, Chelsea could include a player on loan in their next bid to add further appeal, with Juan Cuadrado, Victor Moses and Bertrand Traore all in the frame.
