Draxler

According to reports from The Express yesterday morning, Schalke are ready to sell prodigious winger Julian Draxler, a long-term target of Premier League trio Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United.

The 21 year-old exploded onto the scene during the 2012/13 campaign, netting 13 times in 39 appearances across all competitions – including ten strikes in the Bundesliga.

He’s struggled to rekindle that scoring form since and spent the majority of last season sidelined through injury -managing just eight league starts – but is still widely regarded as one of European football’s most exciting prospects.

According to The Express, however, who cite German publication Bild, Schalke are now ready to cash-in on the German international, who made an appearance from the bench during Die Mannschaft’s 7-1 thumping of tournament hosts Brazil at last summer’s World Cup.

They’re hoping to generate funds to launch a bid for Inter Milan midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri – a target of Everton, Liverpool and Stoke City – but may be forced to sell anyway after failing to qualify for the Champions League.

It’s believed the news could convince Arsenal, Chelsea or Man United to revive their interest, but Schalke’s valuation of Draxler is yet to be confirmed.
