According to reports from The Daily Star this morning, Arsenal have completed the signing of Ajax youngster Donyell Malen.

The 16 year-old has been dubbed ‘the new Thierry Henry’ and boasts a strong record for the Netherlands national team across the junior levels, picking up 19 caps between the U15 and U17 age groups.

Barcelona and Manchester United have both been linked with moves for the prodigious centre-forward over the last few months but it appears Arsenal have now beaten them to his signature.

Although the Gunners are yet to confirm the deal, a picture posted to Malen’s instagram account showed him signing a contract whilst sitting alongside Arsenal transfer honcho Dick Law and agent Mino Raiola – whose other clients include Romelu Lukaku and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The image was hastily deleted but is still viewable via the The Daily Star article. The British tabloid believe Malen’s transfer to the Emirates could be announced later today.
