Thiago Motta

According to reports from The Express this afternoon, Premier League trio Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham are all targeting PSG midfielder Thiago Motta.

The veteran enforcer has enjoyed affluent spells with Barcelona, Inter Milan and the Parisians throughout his club career, bagging two Champions League titles alongside domestic crowns in La Liga, Serie A and Ligue 1.

He’s been an integral figure in a PSG squad that have claimed three consecutive French titles. But now aged 32 and in the final twelve months of his contract, the Italy international looks set to leave Parc de Princes this summer.

Earlier this week, Motta admitted to Gazzetta dello Sport (as quoted by The Express);”I get the impression that a cycle is coming to an end for me. I have given and received so much.

“It would be more comfortable to stay, but I wouldn’t be honest with myself, nor the club, which I have grown to love. It’s not a question of money, but of motivation.”

Former clubs Atletico Madrid and Inter Milan have both been linked, but The Express claim Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham are also in the race for the 6 foot 2 midfielder’s signature.

Motta’s likely to be available at a discounted rate due to his contract expiring at the end of next season, but agent Alessandro Canovi has insisted he’s yet to receive a formal bid.

“No not a single offer, not Inter, nor Atletico (Madrid),” he told Get French Football News.

“There are no official offers for Thiago Motta. What Thiago said was very clear and very simple. Before the US Tour we spoke with PSG and when they return we will see what happens,” he added.
