According to reports from The Daily Star yesterday evening, Lyon forward Alexandre Lacazette has once again snubbed interest from Premier League suitors Arsenal and Manchester United.
The 24 year-old has just come to the end of an incredible campaign at Stade de Gerland. His 27-goal league haul was bettered throughout Europe’s leading top flights by only Ballon d’Or duo Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, seeing him claim Ligue 1’s Player of the Year award for 2014/15 and a second consecutive slot in the division’s Team of the Year.

That’s generated plenty of interest in the France international – who manager Hubert Fournier allegedly values at in excess of £40million – with The Daily Star listing Arsenal and Manchester United as potential suitors. Both Premier League outfits are believed to be on the look-out for added firepower this summer.
Reports earlier this month suggested Lacazette could try to force his way out of Lyon this summer amid a contract dispute with the club’s hierarchy.
But the 5 foot 9 goal-scorer has now insisted otherwise, telling reporters; “I want to show those who think that I have my head elsewhere that I’m still here. I have already said that I want to continue with Lyon.
“I have shown that I’m fully committed. It’s football that interests me, not money. I hope to have a strong season,” he added.
