According to reports from The Metro this morning, Aston Villa are preparing a bid for Juventus defender Angelo Ogbonna.
The 27 year-old is highly-rated in Serie A, having impressed during his seven-year spell with Torino and become an occasional presence within the Italy squad, picking up 10 caps since his debut in 2011.
But he’s struggled for game time since moving to Juventus stadium in summer 2013, going on to make just 41 league appearances for the Old Lady – including a paltry 18 starts since Massimo Allegri took the managerial reins from Antonio Conte at the start of the 2014/15 campaign.
Tottenham and Liverpool were both linked to the 6 foot 3 centre-half by ESPN this earlier this month, whilst The Metro went one better in claiming the Anfield outfit sent scouts to run the rule over Ogbonna during the Champions League final against Barcelona.
But according to their reports earlier today, citing Tuttomercatoweb, Aston Villa have now entered the race to sign the Azzurri defender. Forza Italia claim they’re preparing a bid worth €11million.
