According to reports from The Evening Standard yesterday afternoon, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has ruled out a summer bid for Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal.

The 28 year-old has emerged as one of the most complete central midfielders in world football since joining the Old Lady in summer 2011, this season bagging seven goals and four assists in 28 Serie A appearances whilst averaging 3.1 tackles per match.

In that time, he’s lifted four consecutive Serie A titles with the Turin outfit, and now faces Barcelona in next Saturday’s Champions League final.

As This Is Futbol revealed last week, Juve are reportedly willing to cash in on the Chile international in the coming transfer window if his £28million valuation is met – with Arsenal and Manchester United mooted as his likeliest suitors.

Reports in recent weeks  even suggested the former Bayer Leverkusen star had already agreed a deal with the Gunners, which would see him link up with compatriot Alexis Sanchez at the Emirates next season – as This Is Futbol revealed last month.

But following Arsenal’s 4-0 win over Aston Villa in the FA Cup final on Saturday, Wenger dismissed such claims. When quizzed on the notion of Vidal arriving in north London, he replied; “We have good midfielders and at the moment we are not looking at Arturo Vidal.”

Haha Arsenal have about a million centre mids (and still ended up playing Cazorla there)

Coquelin, Arteta, Flamini, Wilshere, Rosicky, Ramsey, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Diaby, and the best one is Ramsey by some distance. Still though, Vidal is better than all of them.
