According to reports from The Express this morning, Manchester United have agreed a deal with Benfica attacker Nicolas Gaitan.

The Argentina international is widely regarded as one of the biggest talents outside of Europe’s five leading top flights, having played a vital role in Benfica claiming back-to-back Primeira Liga titles and reaching consecutive Europa Leage finals in the last three seasons.

As This Is Futbol revealed in April, Chelsea scouts ran the rule over the 27 year-old earlier this season as The Eagles put five past Academica.

But last month, Benfica president Luis Filipe Vieira and Gaitan’s agent Jorge Mendes were spotted in London, allegedly thrashing out deal with Manchester United – as reported by This Is Futbol.

And according to The Express, the former Boca Juniors prodigy has now agreed a move to Old Trafford. They also claim United will offer Benfica outcast winger Nani in a cash-plus-player deal.

The Portugal international returns to Carrington after an impressive season on loan at Sporting Lisbon, netting seven times in 27 appearances, but is widely expected to be offloaded by the Red Devils in the coming transfer window.
