Arturo Vidal

According to reports from The Daily Star this morning, Arsenal are ready to launch a £21.3million bid for Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal.

The Chile international has emerged as one of the most complete centre-mids in world football since joining the Old Lady from Bayer Leverkusen in summer 2011, last season bagging seven goals and four assists in 28 Serie A appearances whilst averaging 3.1 tackles and 1.3 created chances per match.

He’s been dubbed ‘Il Guerriero’ by the Italian media, which translates as ‘The Warrior’

Vidal came close to joining Manchester United at the start of last season until a knee injury prevented the move and it’s believed the Red Devils still hold a vested interest in the 28 year-old.

But Arsenal are currently proving to be the most proactive in courting his signature, with a £21.3million bid in the pipeline. According to The Daily Star,Gunners forward Alexis Sanchez has been attempting to convince his compatriot into an Emirates move whilst on international duty at the Copa America.

Having now claimed four consecutive Serie A titles with the Turin outfit and reached last season’s Champions League final, the former Colo Colo youngster might be willing to move on this summer.

But whether that bid will be enough to land Vidal remains to be seen. According to reports in May, Juventus value the midfielder at closer to £28million.
