According to reports from The Telegraph this afternoon, Arsenal are preparing a record-breaking contract offer for expected signing Petr Cech.
The Czech international’s future at Chelsea has been open to speculation for some time, having lost his starting status to Thibaut Courtois this season, and a move to the Emirates is now verging upon an inevitability.
As This Is Futbol revealed this morning, the Gunners expect to conclude a deal for the 33 year-old within the next few days, following Arsene Wenger’s guarantee that he’ll be appointed as the north London outfit’s indisputable No.1 next season.
Agreeing personal terms was dubbed ‘a mere formality’ by Mirror Football earlier today, but nonetheless Arsenal intend on making Cech the highest paid goalkeeper in the club’s history with a £100k per-week contract according to The Telegraph – £10k per-week more than he’s currently receiving at Chelsea.
It’s a lesser sum than PSG are reportedly prepared to pay the four-time Premier League champion, but Cech’s made no secret of his desire to stay in London – as This Is Futbol revealed last week.
They better NOT pay that much….more than Theo gets right now? Ludicrous.
