According to reports from The Daily Star this morning, Liverpool are lining up a £10million bid for Stoke City goalkeeper Asmir Begovic.
The Bosnian international’s future at the Britannia stadium is in serious doubt; there’s just a year remaining on his current contract and many were surprised by Mark Hughes’ decision to completely drop him from the Potters’ match-day squad to face Swansea at the weekend – as This Is Futbol revealed yesterday – suggesting the Welsh manager is already preparing for life without his No.1.
Having already established himself as a dependable Premier League goalkeeper, a number of England’s biggest clubs are reportedly considering moves for the 27 year-old this summer. Arsenal and Liverpool have been mooted as suitors by The Express, whilst The Metro claim Manchester United view him as a potential replacement for Real Madrid-linked No.1 David De Gea.
But it appears Liverpool are the most interested party at this moment in time. According to The Star, they’re planning a £10million bid – but also have one eye on bosman-bound Fiorentina ‘keeper Neto.
