According to reports from The Express yesterday afternoon, PSG have offered Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba a £165k per-week contract in a bid to fend off interest from rival suitors Chelsea and Manchester United.

The 22 year-old has emerged as one of the most promising central midfielders in world football since swapping Old Trafford for the Old Lady in summer 2012, through his unique blend of physical prowess, trickery and firepower.

He’s likely to leave Turin this summer after a third consecutive Serie A title with Juve and lucrative suitors are hardly in short supply.

Chelsea and Man United are both known admirers of the French international – in spite of his surprise decision to leave the Red Devils under the bosman ruling three years ago – whilst Barcelona recently had £50million bid rejected, as This Is Futbol revealed earlier this month.

But it appears PSG have edged ahead in the race to sign the 6 foot 2 midfielder. Club president Nasser Al Khelaifi has already admitted holding talks with Pogba, telling reporters yesterday; “Why did I meet him? Because he is a great talent. He is French, a Parisian even. But all the big clubs want him.”

And according to The Express, those talks included a £165k per-week contract offer. The British tabloid even claim such a deal has been ‘agreed in principal’ – but This Is Futbol remains skeptical.
