Cech-ing in at Arsenal

According to reports from The Metro this morning, Liverpool are plotting a loan move for Chelsea icon Petr Cech this summer.

With three (almost four) domestic titles and the 2012 Champions League title under his belt, the 32 year-old is indisputably one of the greatest goalkeepers of the Premier League era, but he looks set to leave Stamford Bridge this summer after having the No.1 jersey prized away from him by the prodigious Thibaut Courtois.

And although Arsenal have been warned ‘not to waste their time’ chasing after the Czech international this summer, as This Is Futbol revealed earlier this month, The Metro claim Liverpool will offer Chelsea £1million to loan Cech for next season, whilst paying his £125k per-week wages.

Whether the Blues would actually loan out a talent they value at £10million for the final year of his contract, however, allowing him to leave for free in summer 2016, remains to be seen.

But he’s by no means the only Chelsea star on the Anfield radar. As This Is Futbol revealed earlier this week, Liverpool are also keen on a permanent deal for playmaker Oscar, should the west Londoners decide to sell in a bid to raise funds.

In their alleged pursuit of the Brazil international, the Merseysiders face competition from Serie A champions Juventus.
