ReusIn recent times, Borussia Dortmund’s star man, Marco Reus, has been linked to just about every top club under the sun. What do you expect? In 99 games for his Bundesliga side, he’s found the back of the net 47 times. Even as Dortmund have struggled this season (they’re currently – rather bizarrely – stuck at the bottom of the German league), their fleet-footed winger has scored 5 goals in 9 games.

That’s an excellent return for a player who doesn’t play centrally. In fact, his goal-scoring record as a whole is very impressive indeed. With Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool all thought to be interested, how long will it be until we see Reus strutting his stuff in the Premier League?

Of course, these clubs won’t have everything their own way. When German talent is involved, Bayern Munich are sure to be sniffing around. Rather surprisingly, however, FIFA agent Dirk Hebel recent spoke to the Press about Bayern’s lack of interest (thus far). Here’s what he had to say:

“There are no negotiations between Marco and Bayern. There has never been any contact.” (Source: The Star)

I’m sure that Premier League fans will be glad to see that their main source of competition in Germany hasn’t been overly forthcoming when it comes to Marco Reus.

This could leave the door wide-open for one of them to swoop in and get their man.

I’d particularly like to see The Gunners snap him up. Imagine if they had Alexis Sanchez down one flank and Marco Reus down the other. They truly would be a fearsome attacking unit once again. That’s the kind of attack that makes a club’s poor defense somewhat obsolete. Why worry about your back-four when you’re scoring goals for fun?

At 25-years-old, Marco Reus is just about to enjoy the best years of his career. Let’s hope he does exactly that whilst playing his football in the Premier League. If this doesn’t happen, he’ll only end up playing for football for Real Madrid or Barcelona. Isn’t it time to stop letting those two get hold of all the best players?

What’s your take? Should The Gunners move in for Marco Reus? Could they possibly win this transfer battle?
