Cuadrado1After a big gap between Manchester United transfers, the club has sprung back into life by snapping up Marcos Rojo from Sporting Lisbon. The fact that they’ve also managed to send Nani in the other direction (thus getting him off the books), is something of a masterstroke.

Let’s just hope that there’s more to come from The Red Devils yet. This season’s debut against Swansea City proved that these players still haven’t learned their lessons from last year. Perhaps another recruit (or two) could help to steady the Manchester United ship.

This brings me to Manchester United’s rumoured interest in long-term target, Juan Cuadrado. Yes, he’s been on the club’s radar for quite some time, but given that the end of the transfer window is approaching, surely it’s time for Louis Van Gaal to make his move. He could come to regret any decision to rest on his laurels.

As it happens, The Metro claim that Manchester United are readying an ‘official’ £32m offer for Juan Cuadrado. Whether it’s enough to tempt his club, Fiorentina, into selling remains to be seen. It should certainly be enough to pique their interest.

It’s easy to see why The Red Devils might be keen to wrap this one up. The Colombian winger has been in fine fettle for the best part of the last year. At the World Cup he scored a single goal and made 4 assists. In 43 appearances for Fiorentina, he scored 15 goals.

From an attacking point of view, he’s clearly very effective. At 26-years-old, he seems to be hitting his peak. Now’s the right time for Manchester United to swoop in.

He’d represent a serious upgrade on the likes of Ashley Young, Antonio Valencia and the aforementioned Nani. Indeed, his attacking prowess could help to bring the best out of other Manchester United personnel (I’m sure that Wayne Rooney and Juan Mata would benefit, for instance).

As such, this deal looks like a no-brainer. Make it happen Louis Van Gaal!

What’s your take? Can Manchester United finally wrap up a deal for Juan Cuadrado?

If the deal to sign Juan Cuadrado goes through and he joins Man U, it will be a gigantic statement to our opponents. This is a deal that LVG and Ed should endeavour to make a success. It will be a big mistake on the other side to sell any of Man U players to rivals especially Arsenal who refused to sell to us Vermelean. I feel Man U should also avoid selling his players cheaply. Wellbeck should go for at least £30 since he still has a potential to improve. He is just 23 years old.
I look forward to watching Man U playing a squad of Mata behind Rooney and RVP, Di Maria on left wing, Cuadrado on right wing, Vidal/Herera/Blind/carrick in the central middle with Shaw as LB, J.Evans/Phil Jones/Rojo as CD and Rafael/Smalling as RB.
    I love Manchester United.
