Juan CuadradoWith Manchester United on the hunt for somebody who can provide a little more cut and thrust down the wings, they’ve unsurprisingly been linked to World Cup star, Juan Cuadrado.

The Fiorentina ace has been in fine form all season long, collecting rave reviews from everybody who has seen him in action. It was only a matter of time before Manchester United made their interest clear.

Manchester United fans must be bored of watching their current crop of wingers in action. To a man, they’ve been seriously disappointing over the last 12 months. Wilfried Zaha has been shipped out. Shinji Kagawa can’t seem to find his natural position. Antonio Valencia has been somewhat inconsistent. Nani looks completely disinterested. Then there’s Ashley Young, who’s… well, Ashley Young.

There’s very little inspiration here and this is perhaps why The Red Devils were so lacklustre moving forward last year. Wayne Rooney was disappointing last season, but he wasn’t receiving the best service, was he?

That’s why all these links to Juan Cuadrado are so exciting. He’s a player who would add some genuine flair in a position that Manchester United need to fill.

The Mirror carry quotes from Fiorentina boss Vincenzo Montella, who speaks of his player’s future:

We need to evaluate the player’s aspirations and, above all, if there is a club out there that can pay what he is truly worth.”

This brings me to a potential issue that may prevent Manchester United from closing this particular deal. According to The Express, Manchester United may have to cough up as much as £31m in order to close this deal. Quality doesn’t come cheap, does it?

Still, given Cuadrado’s prowess, he could well prove to be worthy of his price-tag. Last season, whilst playing for Fiorentina, he made 32 appearances, scored 11 goals and made 5 assists. During his World Cup run-out, he scored once and assisted four goals. He’s certainly not shy when it comes to the big occasion.

The Red Devils need some inspiration. If spending big money can provide them with this, then so be it.

What’s your take? Is Juan Cuadrado the right man for Manchester United?

Cuadrado is a wonderful player and will be a good addition to manchester united. But one player who impressed me at the just ended world cup is Georgio Wijnaldum. Little is said of this lad, but I think he would be a huge force in our midfield now that Vidals move seems out of the equation.

LVG… Please turn to Wijnaldum. I like his work rate
