Juan CuadradoIn signing Alexis Sanchez, The Gunners have already made one impressive statement in this summer’s transfer window. Wouldn’t it be something if they were to make a second statement?

If Arsenal were to snap up another big money signing, I’m sure that pundits would start to back them as potential Premier League title winners next season. Spending money gets people excited and Arsenal fans just want to start believing again.

They got a taste of success, by winning the FA Cup last season. This time round, they need to go for a bigger prize. Alexis Sanchez will help, but I can’t help but feel that The Gunners need to double down upfront.

This brings me to Arsenal’s interest in Colombia’s superstar winger, Juan Cuadrado. The Fiorentina ace has been winning rave reviews all season long and his World Cup showing has only served to improve his reputation (and in turn, bolster his price tag).

As a result, he’s started to attract attention from a bevy of top European sides. According to The Mirror, this list includes Arsenal, Barcelona, Bayern Munich and others. If Arsene Wenger really is interested, he’s going to have to fight off a lot of competition.

Last season Cuadrado scored 11 goals in Serie A. During the World Cup, he scored once and made four assists. He’s truly effective in the final third and that’s why there’s so much interest in acquiring his signature.

Fiorentina boss, Vincenzo Montella was recently asked to comment on Cuadrado’s future. He provided the following sound-bite: We need to evaluate the player’s aspirations and, above all, if there is a club out there that can pay what he is truly worth.”

In other words, he’s saying that Fiorentina are prepared to sell if another club is willing to pay an extortionate amount of cash. The Express suggest that this sum could be as much as £31m, which isn’t too far off what The Gunners paid for Alexis Sanchez.

With all the commercial deals that The Gunners have been closing in recent years, there’s no reason why they can’t afford Cuadrado. Just imagine the level of excitement that closing this deal would create.

What’s your take? Should The Gunners really be interested in wrapping up a big money deal for Juan Cuadrado?

much rather have Balotelli for 14 million don’t need more midfielders unless defensive

I do not think Arsenal need a midfielder anymore, they have enough players in midfield, what they need now is for a defensive midfielder only. If they are to get a striker, that is a bonus, but with the type of play that Arsene Wenger want, I do not see him going for a striker anymore, I see him converting Campbell to a central striker, because of his movement. I think with the help of Ozil and Sanchez Campbell will make it, he is not afraid of any defender, comparing to his age, mind you, he is just 22 years. Now they need to have one strong defensive midfileder only. We should remember that, Diaby is coming back, he might take some time to be 100 percent but he will make it. Campbell is like a new signing.
