Loic Remy (France):Arsenal have already brought in Alexis Sanchez to boost their ailing forward line, but I can’t help but feel that there’s more work to be done in this department.

With Olivier Giroud playing alone upfront last season, The Gunners lacked any kind of pace whatsoever. The Frenchmnan is good with his back to goal, but he’s not one for taking defenders on and getting in behind. Alexis Sanchez will help in this department, but doubling down upfront may be a smart move for The Gunners.

This is surely why they continue to get linked to Queens Park Rangers pacey centre-forward, Loic Remy. The fleet-footed Frenchman has just enjoyed a fantastic season on loan with Newcastle United, where he scored 14 goals in 27 games. It was a fantastic return for a striker who spent long periods of time out injured.

Now that’s he’s got a proven goal-scoring record in the Premier League, I’m surprised that other clubs haven’t come in for him. He’s got it all: pace, power, presence and a calm demeanor in front of goal.

According to The Mirror, The Gunners are leading the chase for Loic Remy, but also face some competition from Tottenham and Newcastle. Queens Park Rangers are also holding out a hope that he’ll stay with them as they return back to the Premier League.

Of all the clubs listed, The Gunners are the only side who can offer Loic Remy Champions League action. If the player is an ambitious type, he’ll ignore any offers of a big salary and head to The Emirates.

With Alexis Sanchez, Theo Walcott, Olivier Giroud, Loic Remy and Lukas Podolski in tow, I’d argue that Arsenal would have an excellent well-rounded forward line. It’d certainly be a big improvement on last season’s offering.

With The Mirror claiming that there is an £8m release clause written into Loic Remy’s QPR contract, this really does look like a no-brainer for The Gunners. They’ve brought in their big money striker, now they just need to find a supplementary option. Let’s hope that they plump for Remy.

What’s your take? Should Arsenal add a little more pace to their forward line?

I fully support d idea of bringing in Remy, he is a fantastic player he is stronge n has pace. Wenger shuld see reason of adding him in d squard 2 supplement sanches.

  • Sammy says:

I truely admire his style of play, wen Remy is in d field playing i always sees determination, courage n alot more of passion in him n his style of play goes along 2 dat of Henry. For £8m i guess Wenger shuld go 4 him. In “Arsene we trust” Up Gunners.
