Alexandre LacazetteIf you’ve been keeping your eye on Ligue 1 this season, you’ll have heard of Alexandre Lacazette, Lyon’s talented young striker. He’s been scoring goals for fun in the French league this year and many sources have started to link him with moves away from his current club.

Despite being just 22-years-old, Lacazette has scored 19 goals in 40 appearances this season. He’s also notched 7 assists in what’s proven to be a very effective year for the young striker.

Everton have certainly been keeping tabs on the player. Check out these quotes from the Lyon star:

“Everton? They wanted me but I did not want to leave. For now I am very happy here and there is no reason for me to leave. I didn’t want to move.” (Source: The Express)

As a French player, he may be a little reluctant to leave the French league. But if a top club like Liverpool came knocking, surely he’d have his head turned?

The Express even claim that both Liverpool and Newcastle are still ‘hopeful’ that a deal can be done after Lacazette’s recent comments.

I can’t help but feel that the French forward is waiting to properly capitalise on his form in the summer. Perhaps Everton just didn’t offer enough cash to tempt him away from France.

This is where Liverpool can step up to the plate and make their presence felt. The Reds certainly have more financial muscle than their Merseyside rivals and may well be able to offer Lacazette a compelling weekly wage.

Earlier this season, [football] direct claimed that Alexandre Lacazette could be available for as little as £8.3m. That’s a relatively small fee for a player whose career is really beginning to take off.

Of course, Liverpool already have Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge upfront, but adding another decent striker to the squad can’t hurt. What if one of their current options got injured?

There’s no point gambling on Suarez and Sturridge staying fit next season, when The Reds can bring another top quality option in for a reasonable fee.

Let’s just hope that Brendan Rodgers is able to succeed where Everton have failed in the past.

What’s your take? Do Liverpool need another striker? Would Alexandre Lacazette be a good option?

Better backup than Borini. Suarez and Sturridge won’t be able to play every PL match like you said and then CL, FA Cup too.

Maybe we could swap borini for him patrick would be good for both clubs. Borini just needs to be playing regularly which he’s not going to get with us, cause I do think borini would do well in the french league.

Yes think this young talented kid would be great signing for us. He remineds me of a young thierry henry very quick, skillfull and very strong on the ball. Would realky love it if we got him.

Yet even more LFC bullshit transfer speculation whipped up by the fabrication media reporters who haven’t got a clue who Brendan Rogers is interested in
