It’s truly been a season to forget for Manchester United fans. David Moyes’ arrival was always going to trigger a ‘transitional season’, but the transition that has taken place has proven to be very difficult indeed. Some transitions happen easier than others, but Moyes has made hard work of his task.
As such, I simply can’t wait for the summer to come around. Manchester United (realistically) can’t win anything this season. But the summer transfer window will give The Red Devils a proper opportunity to re-group and re-build.
Importantly, David Moyes will be afforded an opportunity to cut the deadwood (there’s no shortage of this at Old Trafford) and bring in some replacements who are capable of contributing in a positive way next year.
Now seems like a good moment to mention [football] direct‘s claim that Manchester United wing-wizard, Nani, will be used as part of a swap deal this summer.
Whilst the Portuguese international was a fine performer a couple of seasons back, he’s been offering diminishing returns ever since. This season his performances have been insipid and uninspired. For a player with so much flair and trickery in his locker, the worst thing I could say about him is that he’s looked predictable this year.
If he does move on this summer, I won’t be shedding too many tears. This is particularly true if The Red Devils replace him with somebody who can do a good job for the team.
[football] direct suggest that Nani will be moving to Benfica and that long-term Manchester United target, Ezequiel Garay will be moving in the other direction.
The ex-Real Madrid centre-back is one of the best defenders in the Primeira Liga and would go a long way towards replacing Nemanja Vidic, who’s set to leave the club in the summer. He’s an astute defender with all the qualities necessary to excel in the Premier League.
Given Nani’s diminishing returns, this looks like something of a no-brainer for the Manchester United top brass. If Benfica are really interested in a swap deal between these two players, I hope that David Moyes doesn’t hesitate. This deal could be Manchester United’s first step on the pathway back to success.

I would not trust David Moyes to buy a packet of crisps, as he would only screw that up as well after all the man could not organise a piss up in a brewery let alone manage a massive club like utd.
The deal doesn’t make sense. We need need garay probably more than we need nani at the moment. But nani would still be needed to play a vital role in United next season. This is obvious and that’s why moyes extended his contract
I think the person that wrote this is a no brainer. United have no leverage with anyone – everyone knows they are desperate. They will get very little for Nani – certainly not a quality player.

It is with sadness but Moyes should be given a chance and 2014/2015 season should be it.let him sign who he wants and let’s see if it works.By end of October if Manu is not top fire him and get whoever is available and let it not be said that opportunity was not afforded even to tremendous failing.
