Roberto FirminioIf you’ve been keeping an eye on the German football scene this season, you’ll have seen plenty of Brazilian wonder-kid, Roberto Firmino.

The 22-year-old has been in spectacular form this season, making 25 appearances for Hoffenheim, scoring 10 goals and notching 13 assists. That’s an awesome return for a young player. He seems to make something happen in almost every game that he plays.

Of course, these figures fail to account for all the good work that Firmino does about the rest of the pitch. The Brazilian is diligent off the ball, works hard to win it back and links up well with his team-mates.

He’s pre-dominantly a play-maker who looks to find the gaps in between defenders and pull off a killer pass. The fact that he’s managed to get on the score-sheet on such a regular basis is very impressive indeed.

Naturally enough, he’s started to attract interest from around Europe. In particular, there are a host of Premier League clubs who are ready to swoop in at the next available opportunity.

The Mirror claim that both Manchester United and Liverpool are interested and that Everton are the latest club to join the chase. Things are really starting to heat up, aren’t they?

But this begs the question: who would be a better fit for the Brazilian?

If Manchester United and Liverpool are both interested, I’m sure that the midfielder would prefer one of those options over Everton, particularly if he was offered some kind of guarantee regarding game-time.

That makes this more or less a two horse race. Still, I think there’s a clear leader here.

Manchester United have just spent £37m on another midfielder, Juan Mata. I’m not sure David Moyes can afford to spend big on another player of this ilk.

Liverpool, on the other hand, have a pressing need for another midfielder. With Steven Gerrard getting on in years and the likes of Jordan Henderson and Philippe Coutinho still developing, I’m sure Brendan Rodgers is on the hunt for other options.

It’s also worth noting that Liverpool are a club that is on the up at the moment, whilst Manchester United look entirely burnt out. Firmino may well look at the two club’s League positions and decide in favour of Liverpool.

And I have to say, this would be a smart move. He’d be offered regular game-time at a club that’s really going places. Who can say better than that?

What’s your take? Who would provide a better home for Roberto Firmino?
