Marco ReusIt’s been tough to watch Shinji Kagawa struggle to find his feet in British football. This is a player who once lit up the Bundesliga, Now he’s straining to make any kind of impact whatsoever, for a Manchester United side that’s sliding down the Premier League table.

Before moving to Manchester, Shinji had a reputation for being a goal-scoring midfielder. At Japanese club side, Cerezo Osaka, he scored 57 goals in 127 games. At Dortmund, he scored 29 goals in 71 games. This is a healthy return given that he typically played as an attacking winger.

So why has he only managed to find the back of the net 6 times for Manchester United in 46 games? Why hasn’t he scored thus far this season? Has his confidence in front of goal completely eluded him?

It can’t be easy for Shinji. His position keeps changing and he doesn’t exactly have the confidence of the manager or the fans. He’s in the middle of a serious dry spell and that can be tough to break.

It’s getting to the stage where he may need to consider moving on in order to kick his career back into life. If he stagnates at Old Trafford for much longer, he could end up in the footballing wilderness.

Luckily, The Mirror have suggested the perfect solution. They claim that David Moyes is keen on signing Borussia Dortmund’s superstar winger, Marco Reus and that he’ll offer the German side a player plus cash swap deal. Can you guess who that player is? That’s right, it’s our boy Shinji Kagawa!

I’m sure that the Japanese international will be keen to move back to the club where he played the best football of his career. Likewise, I’m sure Manchester United fans would feel the blow of losing him softened by the delight of signing a player with as much quality as Marco Reus.

Reus also has an excellent goal-scoring record. Whilst at Dortmund he’s scored 32 goals in 77 games. He’s also impressed with his pace, close control and immaculate technique. He’s a world-class talent and will seriously help to turn Manchester United into a force once more.

In that sense, this looks like the perfect swap deal. Let’s see if Manchester United can make it happen.

What’s your take? Is it time to wave goodbye to Shinji Kagawa? Would Marco Reus be a good option for Manchester United?

All is possible. except it seems bot Fergie and Moyes are not always that competent: Kagawa and mata play a different style…….close control fast movement either way that penetrates the best defenses. What do united fearless leaders do? but them in no mans land the ball moves faster than men and that is what these type of players do
