Would this Bayern Munich superstar be the perfect fit for Arsenal?

|

Croatia70Everyone knows that Arsenal are in need of a buying a world class striker in the January transfer window to help or even replace Olivier Giroud in their line up. That man may come in the form of Bayern Munich’s striker Mario Mandzukic.

There is no doubt that the 27-year-old is a top quality player who can perform at the top level. His record of 10 goals in 16 appearances for the Bundesliga side speaks for itself. He’s a big lad, has a great aerial presence and his goal record sure shows he can provide the goods in the Premier League.

With Giroud looking tired (mainly down to injury) and no real back up striker, Mandzukic would be a great buy for the Gunners as he would not only make an impact in the EPL,  but his experience would be useful in the Champions League.

It’s recently come to our attention that Theo Walcott will be out for 6 months, which is a massive loss for the Gunners in their title attempt. Another reason why the Croatian would be a helpful buy.

With the arrival of Lewandoski at Bayern Munich when his Borussia Dortmund contract runs out in June, it may push Mandzukic away from the club, as he is unlikely to get as much game time as in previous seasons and a move to Arsenal looks promising at the moment.

However, Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge says the club have no intentions to sell Croatian striker, this month or next summer.

He quoted “We have absolutely no intention of selling Mario. His contract runs until 2016 and I told his advisor that we would we be willing to talk about an extension.”

This is not good news for any Arsenal fan but surely, if a large sum of money was placed on the table, they couldn’t say no. Arsenal have shown they have the money to spend, so why not place a bid on the big man? It may make all the difference in their attempts to seal the title.

What are your thoughts? Do you think Arsenal should make a move for Mandzukic?

Getting this german guy will be better than going for Giovino aka as the atomic ant.
The atomic ant physically aint up to the epl rigours where you have burly
players who wont hesitate to injure to prevent goal.
Imho, getting the Italian will be a backward step.

    Keep dreaming.

Bayern are not a selling club and have no reason to sell Mandzukic. We need multiple striker options and Mandzukic would personally would not take a step down in his career by moving to a team that has never won a trophy in close to a decade.

    Arsenal can back off

I can see where you’re coming from as Bayern would be his first choice, but he could be persuaded with a huge wage increase. Who do you think Arsenal should bring into the club?

mandy is cup tied to bayern in the champions league and why on earth would they well their main striker option to the side they next face in the knock out stage ( not that he could play) but it would be one less option for Pep
