Do Manchester United really need this £60m superstar?

Radamel Falcao MonacoEven when things have been going badly this season, Manchester United have been able to rely on the ability of their two key strikers to conjure a few moments of magic. There’s no doubting that Robin Van Persie and Wayne Rooney are two of the best strikers in world football.

The Dutchman isn’t the most mobile individual, but he’s so slick and his balance is so good, that he’s capable of turning defenders inside out. But it’s his confidence in front of goal that stands out. To say that he’s prolific would be an understatement.

Whilst Wayne Rooney isn’t exactly goal-shy, what stands out most about him is his work-rate, passion and build-up play. After the events of the summer, it would have surprised nobody if he turned in a few duff performances this year. In fact, however, he’s looked even more fired up this season. His performance against Arsenal summed up just about everything that’s good about the lad. He ran his arse off, made things happen and ended up on the winning side.

At this stage, we should also give a shout out to both Javier Hernandez and Danny Welbeck, who are excellent strikers in their own right. By now it should be clear enough that United are well fixed in this area.

So I was a little surprised to see the Red Devils get linked to Monaco superstar, Radamel Falcao. Yes, he’s a striker that’s as good (if not better than) RVP and Wazza, but do United really need him?

Falcao only moved to Ligue 1 in the summer, but The Star suggest he ‘could already be on his way out’ and that United are ready to lodge a £60m bid.

Whilst United have a pressing need for a creative midfielder, David Moyes may well decide to shake-up his forward options. That was a Sir Alex Ferguson tactic after all.

£60m is a lot of money, but Radamel Falco is one of the few footballers in world football who deserves that big a price-tag. The man is simply unstoppable in front of goal (he’s scored 9 times in 13 appearances this year), impossible to shake off the ball and not lacking in technical ability.

So yes, it’s a signing that would confuse many fans, but it sure would get them excited too.

What’s your take? Should United really be spending time chasing Radamel Falcao?

Falcao is a very good match to the club, but our main problem is a holding midfielder such as koke of athletico Madrid.after the signing of such player why not falcao.with those two,the team will be very balance.
