Whilst I don’t agree with all the negativity that currently surrounds David Moyes, even his most ardent supporters must surely view the Cesc Fabregas saga as a mistake. I’m sure Manchester United began negotiations with the best of intentions. Maybe they thought Fabregas was tired of playing second fiddle? Maybe they thought Barcelona was a little strapped for cash following their splurge on Neymar earlier this summer?
Either way, their bids for Fabregas were always doomed to fail. His connections with Arsenal are just too strong. I’m sure he still holds grudges against United players from his time in the Premier League. Unlike Robin Van Persie, he doesn’t seem to be a man that’s willing to forgive and forget.
The Dutchman was able to do this, because Manchester United provided him with a chance for success. Cesc has already enjoyed success at the Nou Camp and must be hungry for more. In particular, he must be keen to prove that he’s capable of making it at his boyhood club, despite competition from big names like Xavi and Andres Iniesta.
It comes down to this: Barcelona aren’t interested and neither is the player himself. So why have Manchester United wasted so much time on Cesc Fabregas?
It’s time to move on and start looking at other more viable targets. According to The Metro, United are ready to switch their attentions to Borussia Dortmund midfielder, Ilkay Gundogan. They even suggest that he’s been given a ‘glowing reference’ by his former team-mate, Shinji Kagawa.
The 22-year-old German midfielder is among the best players in his age group, with excellent technical ability, attacking flair and work-rate. He’s also willing to track back, put in tackles and support his team-mates.
He’s got just two years left on his Dortmund contract, so United may be in a position of power when it comes to negotiating. Dortmund have also brought in Henrikh Mkhitaryan, so may well be willing to let another midfielder go. It’s thought that they could snap him up for £20m.
That’s a lot of money, but Gundogan’s stature in the game justifies that kind of investment. He’s a great all-rounder, who will add serious depth to Manchester United’s midfield. He could well be United’s missing link. What’s more, he’s considerably cheaper than Fabregas would be.

It should be like that what is so special about fabrigas,let moyes go for gundogan and get fellani with hem the midfield will be srong and man u will play better football and they will get the result they need that all forget about fab he shuold stay at barcaam .

Moyes alone as a utd head coach is a bad start. All utd big rivals ve all made signing and he is yet to make a signing. Honestly, moyes on the path of leading utd out of top four. Utd should not forget what happened to Liverpool…
Gundogan is an excellent choice! Him and shinji know each other well, so their chemistry is already there. He’s a younger fabregas with more grit. He could step in and make an impact right off for United.

The mistake we as a club are making is trying to sign a classy player yet, when we look back to our previous midfielders over the years vry few were classy but the rest were tough strong and capable of doing the impossible task of stoping attacks n thats why our midfield was feared but look at Fabregas he is classy and inteligent but he lacks the abilty to break attacks. Cabaye breaks attacks n also provides assists, Fellaini though slow but if he plays in his best position of CDM he can clearly break attacks from opponents better than any other player right now in Man United
Get this guy along with fellaini and a winger to replace nani and we are all set. We don’t need no CB or baines
