Christian EriksenFor what feels like forever, Liverpool have been linked to Danish youngster, Christian Eriksen. The inordinately talented midfielder, who currently plays for Ajax, has been positioned by some as a long-term replacement for Steven Gerrard.

As a result, this transfer rumour has come up time and time again, circling back round on itself, both adding and chipping away at its validity. It’s difficult to know what level of verisimilitude is attached to the Eriksen-to-Liverpool stories, but given the sheer weight of column inches dedicated to the subject, you’d have to think that somebody was tipped off at some stage.

The football transfer rumour-mill can’t simply be based on mere speculation, can it?

Now that Brendan Rodger’s disappointing first season is over, he has the summer transfer window to attempt to re-build and start afresh. It’s up to the former Swansea City-boss to prove his worth and start working his magic in the market (much like he did with Daniel Sturridge and Philippe Coutinho, to be fair!)

If there is any truth to the claims regarding Liverpool’s interest in Christian Eriksen, now is the time to make good on them. The speculation regarding the player’s future is reaching fever point and it’s only a matter of time until somebody steps in and offers enough money to convince Ajax to sell. Let’s just hope that somebody is our boy Brendan.

After all, even Danish International manager Morton Olsen is suggesting that the 21-year-old should move to new surroundings: “This is the right time for him to go. There are many players who moved to a top club too early, but Christian is really ready.” (Source: Goal.com)

This, I think, is spot on. Joe Allen traded up clubs too soon. He wasn’t ready. Eriksen has already excelled against the likes of Manchester City, PSV, Feyenoord and Borussia Dortmund. He’s looked fantastic at International level. He’s basically crying out for a move to a top club.

But being one of Europe’s best young footballers is sure to raise his price-tag, even if his Ajax contract will expire next summer. It’s probably best that Liverpool get involved and attempt to secure a deal before any kind of bidding war can break out.

If Brendan does bring Eriksen to Anfield, he’ll be delivering a real star. I’d say that would represent a pretty good start to fixing a club that’s been on the decline for too long now.

What’s your take? Should Liverpool finally agree terms for this talented youngster?

Like I’ve said before ” Rodgers paid Swansea £15 million pound for back pass Allen, and he’s not even worth half that ” It would mean Rodgers would have to admit back pass Allen isn’t upto the task ( Which frankly HE ISN’T ) So sell him ASAP,and try bring in a Class player in Eriksen, because back pass Allen doesnt bring anything to are side.
Admit your mistake Rodgers move him on or face the sack next year,it’s as simple as that really.

so if he doesn’t sell Allen he should be sacked. Fickle supporter, I bet you were saying the same things when Hamman, and Lucas first arrived.
Why judge a young player in their first season, try supporting for a change.

Allen was our best player in the first half of the season. All voted for by our fans. He has been injured the 2nd half of the season and still played through it for us. If u actually go 2 the games and see him u wud notice he quality and he’s only going to get better. Erickson wud be amazing but I dout he wud join without champsions league football. Hope he does tho!

Why sell allen? He was one of our best player in d first half of the season so that’s to show that he have wat it takes to play at the top level. Brendon should Get erikson too he’s a top player, benhafa or navas, diame or benaga, richards and aspas is already on is way in. That would be a strong team with depth if suarez stays but if he goes to madrid 40+higuain r any other club 60mill easy because he’s better than torres and we got 50 for him so y not 60.
