Is this the last straw in Liverpool’s battle to keep Luis Suarez?

Luis SuarezWhilst it’s easy to get frustrated at on-going transfer sagas, it’s equally easy to see why they run-and-run. When a player is as important to a club as Luis Suarez is, fans tend to eat up any piece of information available to them.

Every quote and every action is over-analysed to a ridiculous degree, because the consequences can be devastating for the future of the clubs involved.

That’s surely why most of the talk surrounding the arrival of Iago Aspas at Anfield has centered around whether or not he will be a replacement for Suarez.

Having said that, there has to be a line somewhere. When do we decide that enough is enough?

When it comes to Luis Suarez, I reached that point about two weeks ago. Surely it’s time for the Uruguayan trouble-maker to be on his merry way?

I know that most fans break out in a cold sweat at the thought of a Liverpool without Suarez. And whilst it’ll be difficult to adapt to, it’s a move that has to be made for the greater good of the club.

Luis Suarez seems to have his heart set on a move away from Liverpool. How else are we supposed to interpret the following:

“First I have a contract with the club, but if one day I want to sign (for another club), Liverpool will hear the offer, as it does with other players. They must agree with other teams, but the word of the player, in this case mine, is important. If you need a change, you should listen to the player.” (Source: The Daily Mail)

Luis said this a few weeks ago in an interview. It’s also worth noting that this isn’t the first time that Suarez has spoken about the potential of a move away from Anfield. Some of his flirtations with Real Madrid have been shameless.

Suarez has often spoke of his love for Liverpool football club, but he hasn’t treated the fans with a lot of respect this summer.

The Mirror recently ran a story suggesting that Luis Suarez’s move to Real Madrid could be closer than we think. It’s claimed that he’s even willing to cut short his summer break so that he can force a move away from the club.

If this is true, then it’s time to get rid. The Reds will get a lot of money for selling Suarez and will be able to snap up another gifted striker – someone who is pulling in the same direction as the rest of the squad.

And wouldn’t that be the best thing for Liverpool football club as a whole?

What’s your take? Should the Reds finally bid goodbye to Luis Suarez?

agreed …. if he wants to go then let him, take the money and use it to develop a squad capable of a serious challenge

if he doesn’t go, support him and we will still be in a strong position next season

It helps if you know what the question was, until you do it is pointless (much like your article) trying to interpret the answer. Maybe he wants to go maybe he was fed a leading question, but lets be honest, journalists won’t give the full story if it will affect their headlines, they will keep taking 3 lines from a 15 minute interview, focus on them, and ignore the rest, this doesn’t just apply to Suarez either.
